ADELAIDE United's reputation for stability was a key factor in Iain Fyfe's decision to head home to the city of churches.
The defender has agreed a three-year deal at Hindmarsh Stadium after opting to turn down the deal on offer from Sydney FC.
Fyfe told the Adelaide Advertiser: "Most importantly, Adelaide United is a good team. All the players around the league know the club is stable.
"It's a successful team and it will be great to be a part of it."
Fyfe began his career alongside Aurelio Vidmar at Adelaide City before trying his luck overseas.
His arrival at the club adds to the defensive stocks and it remains to be seen how his capture will affect the likes of Michael Valkanis and Ang Costanzo. Both are out of contract at the end of the current campaign.
Costanzo has been linked with A-League new boys Gold Coast United but the player's manager told the Advertiser: "Angelo Costanzo is determined to see out his contract and hopefully win an A-League championship with Adelaide United."
