Matildas coach Alen Stajcic was remarkably left off the 10-person shortlist for the 2017 FIFA Women's Coach of the Year.
Australia, who are ranked seventh in the world, defeated three other teams in the top 10 in 2017.
Stajcic guided the Matildas to the Tournament of Nations trophy, defeating all three of USA - who are ranked number one in the world - Japan and Brazil.
The Matildas not only won all three games against strong opposition, but even smacked Japan 4-2 and embarassed Brazil 6-1.
There were also victories against Netherlands and China at the Algarve Cup, while the Matildas' only defeat of the year came against Sweden.
