Pato Rodriguez has left Newcastle Jets, quashing speculation he may be kept around for another title-tilt next season.
The 28-year-old joined the club as an injury-replacement for fellow Argentine Ronald Vargas, with a pedigree including AEK Athens and Brazillian giants Santos.
Rodriguez made 12 appearances for Newcastle on their run into the Grand Final, occassionally drawing the ire of Ernie Merrick for his slightly lapse training regime.
The Newcastle Jets said in a statement they "would like to thank Pato for his contribution to the club and wish him the very best with his future endeavours."
