Last year, FC Zurich beat Basle in their final match with a late goal to snatch the title, and this year they will take a one-point lead into the final week after Saturday's 3-2 win in Bern against Young Boys.

They needed a late winner from Almen Abdi after the capital club had twice come back to equalise.

First Francileudo Santos and then Alexandre Alphonse put Zurich ahead only for first substitute Marcos Pereira and then Hakan Yakin to equalise.

The champions now need only win their last game of the season to defend their title, but a city derby with Grasshoppers is no formality.

Basle kept up the chase with a 3-0 win over Lucerne, earned by strikes from Mile Sterjovski, Ivan Ergic and Ivan Rakitic.

Julian Buhler, Lukas Dosek and Nelson Ferreira netted in a 3-0 win for FC Thun against Grasshoppers, while FC Sion prevailed by the same scoreline at St Gallen despite the late sending-off of Gelson Fernandes.

Early goals from Alvario Saborio and Goran Obradovic did the damage before Carlos Alberto Alves got in on the act.
