FORMER Socceroo Mile Sterjovski could be back in the A-League next season after his Chinese club Dalian Aerbin decided to release him.
The 33-year-old spent almost three seasons at Perth Glory before moving to China in February.
Sterjovski was a regular for Dalian, making 14 appearances, but never settled in at his new club, having been asked to play in a variety of positions during his time in China.
Dalian, who are down in 10th, are understood to be keen to make changes to their foreign legion of players, forcing Sterjovski out.
The player confirmed he would return to Australia later this month on Twitter.
"Happy to be heading home at the end of the month!" he wrote. "Permanently back to Australia. I will play three more games then move back."
Sterjovski, who made 43 appearances for Australia, hails from the Illawarra region and previously played for Wollongong Wolves, Sydney United and Parramatta Power in the NSL.
