The former Schalke and Hamburg boss left PSV in January after AZ Alkmaar opened a significant lead in the Dutch title race.

He has yet to return to work but insists when he does, it will not be in his homeland.

"I won't work in Holland ever again," Stevens told Voetbal International.

"I am heavily disappointed about what happens here in Holland. In seven months I have experienced a lot. Before that I worked abroad for years too. I could not re-adjust back in Holland to the way clubs are run there, unfortunately."

Stevens revealed he has not watched PSV once since leaving the Philips Stadion.

"I can say that my love for PSV has cooled down a lot," he said.

"All of the decisions I took there were approved broadly.

"Maybe I thought of the interests of the club too much, while I should have reacted more directly.

"Two or three months earlier I said what had to change but nothing was done. Maybe I was too loyal."

Stevens claims to have received plenty of interest for his services - and may end up making a left-field decision.

He said: "I been approached many times which is nice to know after what happened.

"I deliberately chose to take the rest of this season off to recharge my batteries. There's a good chance that my next club will be something exotic."
