NORTH Queensland Fury coach Franz Straka is clear to lead the team against Perth Glory tomorrow night as he fights the touchline ban imposed on him by the FFA.
A furious Straka was incensed when his side wasn't given a penalty, leading to a confrontation between himself and the fourth official during Fury's last-minute 3-2 loss to Central Coast Mariners.
FFA found Straka was in breach of their national code of conduct in handing him the suspension, while also adding a one-game suspended sentence to ensure it doesn't happen again. But Fury have appealed.
The Hyundai A-League Disciplinary Committee consisting of Lachlan Gyles SC (Chair), Shaun McCarthy and Peter Speed convened on Wednesday to hear a matter referred to it by North Queensland Fury in relation to Straka.
The committee requested that further written submissions be provided before a determination can be made.
Any sanction imposed by the Disciplinary Committee will come into effect immediately upon that determination being made, accordingly Franz Straka is able to act as coach for North Queensland Fury in their Week 10 fixture against Perth Glory.
Following the hearing, Fury Chief Executive Rabieh Krayem said; "We are obviously delighted that Franz will be able to take control of the team on Friday night in what is a massive match for the club.
"We would not have appealed if we didn't think we had grounds for this original sanction to be overturned and remain positive that this will be the outcome next week."
