AUSTRALIA'S team for the 2008 Homeless World Cup has been selected with Alex Marshall to skipper the Street Socceroos in their campaign in Melbourne in December.
Street Socceroos coach George Halkias announced the squad on Thursday with eight players for the four-a-side matches to be played at Federation Square and Birrarung Marr.
"The street Socceroos are a great example of what homeless and marginalised people can achieve when give the opportunity and support," Halkas said.
"Our Australian players have seized the opportunity to make positive changes in their lives, and will be able to stand proud on the world stage."
The squad were selected from hundreds of homeless and marginalised people across the country which have been competing in street Soccer programs.
