Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has hailed the atmosphere at ANZ Stadium after more than 72,000 fans turned out to see the Reds crush Sydney FC 3-0 on Wednesday night.
Sturridge opened the scoring before further first-half goals from Alberto Moreno and Roberto Firmino seal an emphatic result cheered on by a healthy crowd.

“Great vibe,” Sturridge told ABC 2. “Everyone enjoyed themselves.
“We played to play some football and try to put on a show.
“I hope everyone was happy with the performance of the team and enjoyed it.”
Sturridge acknowledged Liverpool’s hectic schedule had taken its toll.
The Reds defeated Middlesbrough 3-0 on Sunday on the final day of the Premier League before flying to Australia and landing in Sydney on Wednesday morning.
“I’m feeling okay. It’s been a big few days for the team, a lot of travelling,” Sturridge said.
“I’m working off a few hours sleep right now, it’s been fun though.
“It’s my first time here, I’m liking the place, but I’m not going to be here very long. It’s a really nice place though.”
