Amy has had the Sydney FC logo tattooed on her right hip having followed the team since the Hyundai A-League began two seasons ago.

She now joins Queensland Roar fan Sas Collins - who sports the Roar logo on her shoulder - as two of the A-League's ultimate fans.

“Supporting Sydney FC is something I want to do for the rest of my life,” she told au.fourfourtwo.com. "And getting it inked on me shows it’s a permanent decision

“Some of the other fans of Sydney FC have had tattoos done in relation to the club but not just the plain logo.

"So rather than twisting it and making it different I’d rather get the plain logo. I want to support them through thick and thin.”

Amy, 19, has recently moved to Queensland but has still renewed her Sydney FC membership.

“I’m going to try and travel to as many games as I can get to,” she said.

“Last week was only the second Sydney FC game I’ve missed in three seasons and it was pretty hard watching it on TV. I’m a Sydney girl born and bred and I will definitely move back there eventually.”

While fellow supporters in the Cove have been supportive, Smith says many tried to discourage her.

“Some told me not to because of the fact that it could last five years, or fifty years," she said.

“But as far as I’m concerned no matter how long it lasts, it’s not going to change my memories of being at the grand final and the first A-League game.

"All the other tattoos are the same anyway.”

Ironically the tattoo was done by an artist in Queensland, not Sydney.

“He didn’t say too much but he did say he’d never seen a girl come in and get a football logo tattooed on them, so I think he was a little surprised,” she said.

Amy’s Sydney FC tattoo is her first, but she's now considering also getting a Liverpool logo tattooed, having followed the Reds since she was three.

“Every girl goes through the idea of getting the butterfly or a flower or something like that," she added.

"But this was the only thing I ever really wanted to get done. The Liverpool logo is so detailed though you have to get it really big.

"Mine’s a decent size but the Liverpool one would have to be that much bigger.”
