Suwon Samsung Bluewings closed the gap on K-League leaders Seongnam Ilhwa Chunma with a 5-3 win against high-flying Gyeongnam FC on Saturday.
Gyeongnam began the day just a point adrift of Suwon but the three-time K-League champions secured victory in an entertaining encounter to move within three points of Seongnam, who have a game in hand against Daegu FC on Sunday.
The defeat dropped Gyeongnam into fourth place, a point behind Ulsan Hyundai Horang-i, who were held to a 1-1 draw by Pohang Steelers.
It was a good night for Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors and Chunnam Dragons as both Jeolla sides picked up victories.
Jeonbuk remain fifth after their 2-1 home win over Jeju United while Chunnam are up one place to sixth following their 3-1 win triumph at Busan I'Park.
In Saturday's other matches, Incheon United and FC Seoul played out a 2-2 draw, while Gwangju Sangmu scored their first victory of the season with a 1-0 win over Daejeon Citizen.
