GOALKEEPERS
ANDREAS ISAKSSON (Manchester City, 03/10/81)
Still coach Lars Lagerback's number one despite finding first-team opportunities at Manchester City hard to come by. Will hope an impressive display in Austria and Switzerland can put him in the shop window for a summer move away from Eastlands.
RAMI SHAABAN (Hammarby, 30/06/75)
After four appearances during qualifying, including a clean sheet in the vital 2-0 victory over Spain, the veteran stopper will push Isaksson all the way for a starting berth.
JOHAN WILAND (Elfsborg, 24/01/81)
Former under-21 international Wiland is enjoying his sixth season with Elfsborg. He had a brief loan spell with Wolves in 2004. Unlikely to be anything other than a back-up at Euro 2008.
DEFENDERS
DANIEL MAJSTOROVIC (Basle, 05/05/77)
A colossal defender who is always a threat at set-pieces, averaging a goal every seven games throughout his career.
OLOF MELLBERG (Aston Villa, 03/09/77)
The mainstay for the Sweden defence since making his debut in 2000 is set to move to Juventus after Euro 2008. He has performed consistently at right-back and centre-half during his seven years in England.
PETTER HANSSON (Rennes, 14/12/76)
An influential performer at centre-back throughout qualification, Hansson grabbed his first international goal in the win over rivals Denmark last year.
TEDDY LUCIC (Elfsborg, 15/04/75)
Veteran left-back Lucic has not been first choice during the last two seasons. The former Leeds defender will want the chance to atone for his sending-off in the 2006 World Cup defeat against Germany.
MIKAEL NILSSON (Panathinaikos, 24/06/78)
The versatile defender is expected to start at right-back, where his composure on the ball will be an asset.
MATIAS CONCHA (Bochum, 31/03/80)
Concha has enjoyed a solid first season in the German Bundesliga but an unconvincing performance in the humiliating qualification defeat to Northern Ireland cost him his place as Sweden's right-back.
FREDRIK RISP (Ankaraspor, 15/12/80)
Powerful centre-back Risp returned to the Sweden squad for March's friendly against Brazil after three years away with a serious knee injury and a subsequent loss of form.
FREDRIK STOOR (Rosenborg, 28/02/84)
Made his debut against Costa Rica in January. A cruciate knee ligament injury to Wigan's Erik Edman has given Stoor the chance to stake his claim in Lagerback's starting line-up.
MIDFIELDERS
NICLAS ALEXANDERSSON (IFK Gothenburg, 29/12/71)
The versatile former Everton man is the most capped member of the squad having won more than 100 caps for his country. He provides experienced cover across the midfield positions.
DANIEL ANDERSSON (Malmo, 28/08/77)
A tenacious midfielder who has been a mainstay in the Sweden squad over the last eight years. After 60 caps he is still waiting for his first international goal.
KENNEDY BAKIRCIOGLU (Ajax, 02/11/80)
A peripheral figure during qualifying, Bakircioglu has found it difficult to nail down a first-team place since his summer move to Ajax despite scoring on his league debut against De Graafschap.
KIM KALLSTROM (Lyon, 24/08/82)
The stylish playmaker has been influential in Lyon's run to a seventh straight French title. His goals and creativity from behind the strikers will be crucial to his country's chances.
SEBASTIAN LARSSON (Birmingham, 06/06/85)
One of the star performers in Birmingham's battle against relegation. The dead-ball specialist made his international debut against Turkey in February and will hope to press for a starting place.
FREDDIE LJUNGBERG (West Ham, 16/05/77)
Has suffered from niggling injury problems in his first season at West Ham and a rib injury could yet keep him out of the finals. His Arsenal glory years seem to be firmly behind him but he is still capable of the occasional moment of brilliance.
ANDERS SVENSSON (Elfsborg, 17/07/76)
Forged an impressive midfield partnership with Kallstrom in qualifying. The ex-Southampton man found the net twice during the campaign.
CHRISTIAN WILHELMSSON (Deportivo La Coruna, 08/12/79)
After an unsuccessful spell at Bolton, the pacey winger moved to La Liga in January and established himself in Sweden's starting line-up with a string of impressive performances.
FORWARDS
MARCUS ALLBACK (Orgryte, 05/07/73)
Veteran hitman Allback was top scorer in qualifying with six goals, and with Euro 2008 set to be the former Aston Villa player's international swansong he will be determined to go out on a high.
JOHAN ELMANDER (Toulouse, 27/05/81)
Elmander has found the net 11 times this season in a struggling Toulouse side and remains one of the most sought-after forwards in European football. Likely to lead the attack with Ibrahimovic although he has not scored for Sweden since the 3-0 qualifying victory over Denmark in June 2007.
ZLATAN IBRAHIMOVIC (Inter Milan, 03/10/81)
Loved and loathed in equal measures in Sweden, the gifted striker has once again enjoyed Serie A success with Inter this season. However, Ibrahimovic failed to find the net during qualifying and has not scored an international goal for two-and-a-half years.
MARCUS ROSENBERG (Werder Bremen, 27/09/82)
Rosenberg's goals have fired Werder Bremen to Champions League qualification this season. His aerial ability has been a constant thorn in the side of Bundesliga defences and he is pressing serious claims for a starting place.
Still coach Lars Lagerback's number one despite finding first-team opportunities at Manchester City hard to come by. Will hope an impressive display in Austria and Switzerland can put him in the shop window for a summer move away from Eastlands.
