Bobo is understood to have signed a one-year contract on Wednesday, worth approximately AU$1 million.

He travelled up to the Gold Coast late in the week to link up with his new team-mates ahead of the pre-season friendly against Brisbane Roar on Saturday.

His arrival bolsters Sydney’s attacking options, amid reports Serbian midfielder Milos Ninkovic is set to join Qatari club Al Gharafa.

The Sky Blues managed only 36 goals in 27 A-League games last term, with Shane Smeltz since moving on.

Sydney has added Bernie Ibini on loan from Club Brugge this off-season and will have Alex Brosque back to fitness to boost their frontline.

Bobo spent last season at Gremio where he scored 14 goals in 55 appearances in all competitions.

The forward previously made 222 appearances for Turkish giants Besiktas between 2006 and 2011 where he scored 97 goals.

He was called up to the Brazilian national team during his time at Besiktas in 2008, but did not play.

His former clubs include Corinthians, Cruzeiro and Kayserispor along with Besiktas and Gremio.
