Johnny Koutroumbis - 6

Lost the ball a couple of times but often won it back. A couple of his tackles may have won his team a point.

Lachlan Jackson - 7

Had his pants pulled down by Ninkovic but otherwise played well. Singlehandedly saved a goal and did extremely well to keep the pace for the full 97 minutes tonight.

Nikolai Topor-Stanley - 7.5

Superb positioning saved his side on a number of occasions. The A-League has a number of standout centre-halves at the moment and he is one. With Lowry, Williams and Wilkinson all knocking on the door for the Green and Gold, old Hyphen should be considered too.

Daniel Georgevski - 6.5

Hopefully his substitution after going down is nothing serious. His cross for Nabbout’s goal was fantastic.

Steven Ugarkovic - 6.5

He wasn’t as influential this week as he had been previously. That said, he still had some very good moments. He has a good change of pace and is a threat when he turns it on and bursts forward from the midfield.

Wayne Brown - 6

Some great long passes to get the counterattacks started. This was his best performance for a while but he still lacks the confidence and verve he had when he first came to the A-League.

Dimitri Petratos - 6.5

Wriggled clear of Brillante to mastermind some of Newcastle’s dangerous counterattacks. Once or twice he didn’t choose the best option while still managing to keep the ball. So on the one hand it was commendable but on the other hand, what might those attacks have been?

Joey Champness - 7.5

Probably his best game in a Jets shirt. His goal was deserved reward for his hard work tonight. Showed great promise but his game needs a lot of polish. At twenty-years old, he’s got a lot of time to improve
