Second of the Aussie clubs in action, Sydney FC hosted 2012 winners Ulsan Hyundai at Jubilee Stadium and the home side looked the most likely to score, as Steve Corica's men displayed patient build up play, using the width without success.

Brandon O’Neill switched the play with a good range of passing, but the Sky Blues couldn’t find that elusive goal, as the match ended 0-0.

Ulsan Hyundai would be the happier of the two, taking away a point from tonight's match. Sydney displayed a lot of intent but only recorded two shots on goal.

Sydney FC

Andrew Redmayne -7

Strong in the air when punching the ball to clear his lines. Untroubled all game.

Rhyan Grant – 7.5

Good position in defence to clear the lines. Strong runs into the final third. Decent balls into the penalty area. Tracking back really well, solid defending. Reading the play extremely well.

Ben Warland – 7.5

Comfortable in possession linking well with his teammates. Well-flighted distribution of passes. Solid defending, switch on all the time.

Alexander Wilkinson – 7.5

Commanding his area, strong headers to clear his lines. Good anticipation when defending.

Michael Zullo – 6

Pressed forward and worked hard up and down the park, finding time to deliver crosses into the penalty area but let himself down through a poor range of deliveries. Needs to do much better.

Brandon O’Neill – 7.5

Switching the play well, good range of passing. Important runs into the final third. Worked hard picking up the ball and always looking for his team-mates to move the ball in transition.

Joshua Brillante – 5.5

Sloppy turnovers in dangerous areas, generally scrappy play and needed to get hold of the ball better and display more concentration. Two sloppy long-range shots, no control, just went for power.

Anthony Caceres – 7

Finding good space, working hard in the midfield. Decent shot at goal and subbed 77th minute.

Milos Ninkovic – 6.5

Keeping possession well enough. Little one dimensional in the first-half. More energy in the second half, creating space with delightful touches

Reza Ghoochannejhad – 5.5

Looked off the pace, poor decision making overall. Sliced his one shot on goal with a poor attempt. Disappointing in his delivery of the ball. Subbed 66th minute.

Adam Le Fondre – 7

Good energy, good ball control. Cheeky chip early in the match but it just drifted wide. Clever one-touch play to bring his teammates into the game but just couldn’t quite pull them off. Still a productive match for the Englishman.

Subs

Alex Brosque – 6

On for Reza Ghoochannejhad. Maybe the wrong substitution with his back problems, but showed decent energy.

Luke Ivanovic – 5

On for Anthony Caceres. Had a few highlights but suffered from poor decision making. Not the impact Sydney were looking for.
