To see Sydney trial the new Brazilian at training today...

Sydney FC will chase their first win of the season against Central Coast Mariners in a must-win clash for both sides  on Saturday night at the SFS.

The sky blues are one point from a possible nine while the Mariners are on four points from their three games.

However, a return to the familiar surrounds of the SFS and the return of striker Mark Bridge has Jamieson upbeat.

“It’s three games into the season and I understand the media has a job to do to create stories but we’re staying positive and that turns towards this Saturday against Central Coast,” he told au.fourfourtwo.com today.

After two fruitless roadtrips to Queensland, the left sided wingback says a home derby is just the tonic for the sky blues.

“You see it around the world, when teams are in slumps a derby with a bit of feeling and passion can kick-start the season,” he said.

With Mariner Matt Simon set to start, the equally fiery Jamieson senses this could be a derby with a real edge -  and he’s hoping it brings out the best in the reigning A-League champions.

“Obviously the results haven’t gone our way and the football hasn’t been to the standard we want it," he admitted. "There’s a fair bit of improvement individually and collectively.

“But that’s in the past and Bridgey’s [Mark Bridge] back. We don’t want to put too much pressure on the lad but he’s important to us.

“And one Killer B is better than none at all.”

Jamieson said the analysis of last week’s 1-0 loss in Brisbane highlighted the need for the side to keep better possession of the ball.

“It was one thing I noticed last season playing against Sydney, their possession was always very good and hard to counter,” he said.

With Alex Brosque suffering from an ankle ligament strain that will keep him out for at least another two weeks, today Sydney trialed Italian-based Brazilian striker Bruno Cazarine.

After a nervy start at training today, the tall striker found his confidence - and the back of the net, with some good strikes and impressive headers.

Jamieson didn’t see too much of the trialist but was hopeful the long wait for an extra forward will soon end.

“It’s too early to say if he can join the Killer B ranks – it’d be nice to have another forward,” he said.

In the meantime Jamieson wants the Sydney fans to know the squad is doing what it can to arrest the slow start.

He added: “We’re trying our hearts out but it’ll turn around soon. We’d love the crowd to be there cheering for us and getting on the backs of Central Coast.”

Meanwhile fellow defender Seb Ryall has signed on for another two years with Sydney, the club confirmed today.
