SYDNEY FC have finally filled the vacant spot on the front of their shirt after tying up a two year deal with Australia and New Zealand's largest online travel agency, Webjet.
The two year deal will see Webjet become Sydney FC’s front of shirt and sleeve sponsor after the club went without any major sponsor last year, eventually donating the prime ad real estate to charity.
Sydney FC Chief Executive Officer Tony Pignata said he believes the signing of the agreement represents a huge step forward for the club.
“We are delighted to have Webjet on board as our major sponsor and we hope this is the start of a long and significant partnership," he said.
"Our supporters have waited patiently for us to find the right brand to represent Sydney FC and I’m absolutely thrilled that we now have it."
Webjet Managing Director John Guscic said he was looking forward to a strong relationship with Sydney FC and football.
“Sydney FC has a substantial and passionate supporter base, a family and multi-cultural audience, as well as significant TV exposure," he said.
"Add to that the fact football is a global juggernaut and we feel this partnership is another step in broadening Webjet’s appeal beyond Australian shore."
Fans will get first chance to see the new strip in Ian Crook’s first game in charge when Sydney FC play the Macarthur Rams at Campbelltown Stadium on Tuesday August 14, kick off 7.30pm.
