SYDNEY FC have denied signing Dutch striker Johan Voskamp or Uruguayan frontman Elias Ricardo Figueroa despite foreign reports suggesting otherwise.
The Sky Blues have publicly admitted they are in the market for a new striker following the departure of John Aloisi and Chris Payne.
Reports from Dutch football website voetbalprimeur.nl claimed Voskamp, a 25-year-old forward who scored 24 goals for Eerste Divisie club Helmond Sport last season, was on the verge of a move to Sydney.
Figueroa, a 22-year-old ex-Uruguay youth international, was set to confirm a one-year loan deal with the Sky Blues according to Quenonino.com.
But a Sydney FC spokesperson quelled the speculation to au.fourfourtwo.com, revealing neither player's signature had been secured although they did admit both were being monitored by the club.
"Neither player has signed for Sydney FC," the spokesperson said. "We are currently looking for a striker and are searching all over the world.
"These two players are on an extensive list but no decision or offer has been made."
