With Newcastle Jets coach Branko Culina expected to be watching on, Bosnich - signed as a guest player for the remainder of the season - gets a chance to impress and perhaps earn himself a contract with the Newcastle franchise.

With two young keepers in its squad, many see Bosnich as the ideal third keeper at the ACL club. A good performance on the back of an impressive return to club football with the NSW premier league side can only enhance the former Man Utd and Chelsea keeper's chances of gracing the A-League again.

But more than that, Sunday's friendly at Belmore (kick off 5.30pm) offers the home side a chance to make it an A-League double after accounting for an out-of-sorts Jets 2-1 in an ACL preparatory game in June.

One of the stars that night was defender Michael Cindric with two first half goals. Olympic coach Nick Theodorakopoulos has coached in the A-League with the Jets and has won an NSL championship with Wollongong. His side currently sits sixth in the NSW PL.

What's more, four ex Sydney Olympic players are in Sydney FC's 2009/10 squad.  Goalkeeper Clint Bolton won an NSL Championship with Olympic in the 2001/2002 season, Mark Bridge played for Olympic during the 2006 NSW Premier League season, Matthew Jurman joined Olympic during the middle of last season and scored the winning penalty in a shootout that sent Olympic to the final of the Tiger Turf Cup Final, and Cole who wore the Olympic jersey in 2007 and 2008.

Sydney FC for its part have been hugely impressive over the last few months as Vitezslav Lavicka's side continues its preparations for A-League season five starting in August.

The sky blues are unbeaten in pre-season and have re-energised their connection with the NSW league after a number of highly successful friendlies. Sunday's game looms as the biggest event of its kind coming just weeks before the sky blues head to Townsville to open their A-League campaign against Fury.

The concept of the Sydney FC v Olympic friendly was agreed upon in August 2008 as a key term of the transfer deal that saw Cole move from Olympic to Sydney FC.

Sydney Olympic have put together a gala day of events, so fans will get good value for their ticket.
Belmore Sports Ground will open at 12pm with three games forming the undercard to the main event that kicks off at 5.30pm.

At 12pm Sydney Olympic's Under 18's side take on the NSW Institute of Sport Under 18's, followed at 2pm with Olympic's Under 16's facing the Australian National Deaf team.

At 3.45pm the Sydney Olympic Legends take on an All Star Legends team.  Players expected to play in this match include Peter Katholos, Marshall Soper, Chris Kalantzis, Mark Koussas, Abbas Saad, Francis Awaritife, Zlatko Arambasic, John Kosmina, Charlie Yankos and more.
