Sydney FC have continued their barnstorming start to the A-League season with a 2-0 win over the Newcastle Jets at McDonald Jones Stadium on Saturday.
The Sky Blues grabbed the early initiative in both halves to notch up their fourth straight victory and condemn the Hunter side to their first loss of the season.
Goals to Alex Brosque (8') and Milos Ninkovic (49') ensured Sydney continue to sit on maximum points without conceding a goal in 2016/17, and sets up a mini break for Graham Arnold's men at the top of the table.
Starting his first game of the campaign Alex Brosque made an almost immediate impact, putting the visitors in the lead.

The Sydney skipper was put through on goal by a Michael Zullo pass and fired across goalkeeper Jack Duncan for the opener.
Sydney might have been three up in the first 10 minutes with both Matt Jurman and Filip Holosko making easy work of the Jets defence.
The home side worked their way back into the contest and looked dangerous off a succession of free kicks just after the half-hour.

Desperate defending by Alex Wilkinson prevented Morten Nordstrand getting on the end of a low cross from Jason Hoffman before Steven Ugarkovic butchered the chance to equalise on the cusp of half time.
Sydney struck again soon after the restart when Holosko's shot from the edge of the area was parried into the path of Ninkovic who fired home to double the advantage.
Andrew Hoole came close to an equaliser for the home side twice in the dying minutes. His first brought out a top shelf save from goalkeeper Danny Vukovic, largely a spectator throughout the match, before overhitting the ball for the second.
Round 5: Sydney are at home against Melbourne Victory next week while the Jets travel across the ditch to take on Wellington Phoenix.
