Aloisi missed two sitters in the 4-1 loss to Glory on Sunday night and looked a broken player when replaced to a chorus of boos 10 minutes after half-time.

Kosmina indicated the misfiring forward's selection for the showdown with arch-rival Victory was not assured and would depend on what unfolded at training this week.

Aloisi joined his Sydney team-mates in a recovery session at Bondi Beach today but appeared withdrawn and still stunned by the previous night's shocker.

He refused to discuss his nightmare performance with the media, leaving skipper Steve Corica to face the music.

Corica confirmed the $1.3m-a-year star was not guaranteed a start against Melbourne.

"He's obviously disappointed he missed the chances but he's a good professional and he'll get on with it and if he plays next game hopefully he'll score for us," the captain said.

"He's alright. Life goes on for him.

"It's hard when you miss chances like that. He's a good player, he's scored goals everywhere he's gone and I'm sure he's going to come through it."

Corica added Sydney's woes could not be placed directly at the feet of Aloisi, saying the entire team must take responsibility for a defeat that could cost the Sky Blues a finals spot for the first time in their history.

He also refused to blame fans for booing his team off the pitch at the break and again at fulltime.

"It's not a nice feeling to be booed off the park," he said. "It's disappointing to hear that but they get the right to say whatever they want."

Asked if he had a message for those supporters, Corica replied: "Just stick with us."

"Things can turn around pretty quickly. It has done in the past.

"We're two points out of the top four and there are five games to go so we're still in with a shot."
