Sydney FC's impressive ACL debut in China has prompted a rush for tickets for the club's upcoming three home games.
Ticketek sold 1000 tickets to Sydney FC's first home game in Asia's premier club football competition, versus Japanese league and cup winner Urawa Red Diamonds at Aussie Stadium on March 21, in the first hour after they went on general sale at 9.00am this morning.
"There has been a tremendous response from Sydney FC supporters to the team's historic victory over one of China's biggest sides in what is the only real international club competition of any football code in Australia," said Sydney FC chief executive officer George Perry.
"The atmosphere inside Aussie Stadium two weeks from now will be fantastic as Urawa has told us to expect 1000 fans from Japan and Sydney's Japanese community has also embraced the match."
Early ticket sales are also strong for Sydney FC's other home games, which are against Indonesian title holder Persik Kediri at Parramatta Stadium on April 25 (Anzac Day) and Shanghai Shenhua, the side it defeated 2-1 in China late last night, at Aussie Stadium on May 9.
