Syria have been held to a 0-0 draw by 10-men Palestine in the Asian Cup, leaving the Socceroos rooted to the bottom of Group B.
The two Middle Eastern nations played out a goalless draw at the Al-Sharjah Stadium on Sunday.
The result, and Jordan's 1-0 victory over Australia, leaves the Socceroo anchoring fourth place in the group.
Palestine had Mohammed Saleh sent off, after he received his second yellow card, in the 69th minute.
Despite the red card, and having only 34% possession, they managed to cling on to a point.
The Lions of Canaan did not manage a single shot on target against Syria.
Palestine take on the Socceroos on Friday at the Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum Stadium in Dubai.
