Szczesny was sent off in Poland's opening 1-1 draw against Greece with PSV Eindhoven goalkeeper Przemyslaw Tyton saving the day for the hosts.

Tyton palmed away a penalty after being thrust into action at Warsaw's National Stadium and conceded only one goal at the same venue against Russia.

Poland, third on the Group A table with two points from as many games, can leapfrog second-placed Czech Republic into a quarter-final berth with a win at Wroclaw's Municipal Stadium on Saturday.

"It's down to the manager (Franciszek Smuda)," Szczesny said.

"I'm hoping I get the nod in front of (Tyton), but it is the manager's decision."

Regardless of his selection, Szczesny believes Poland have what it takes to advance to the knockout stage of the European Championships.

"We are confident and it is all in our hands," Szczesny said.

"We believe we have the quality and the determination to go through.

"We've had two decent games and I think we've got decent results. We are not delighted with it, but we are satisfied, but now it is in our hands and I believe we can go through."
