FORMER Hamburg and Eintracht Frankfurt striker Naohiro Takahara has joined South Korean side Suwon Bluewings on a six-month loan.
The 31-year-old former Japan international, who scored 23 goals in 57 appearances for his country, moves from J.League side Urawa Reds.
His arrival will strengthen the Bluewings' squad ahead of September's Asian Champions League quarter-final clash with fellow K-League outfit Seongnam Ilhwa.
"I would like to thank Urawa Reds and the fans for these two-and-a-half years I spent here. I will now try my best to contribute in the success of Suwon," Takahara told Reds' official website.
Suwon also confirmed the capture of 24-year-old Brazilian attacking midfielder Marcio Diogo from Cruzeiro on a year-long loan deal, while former Suwon skipper Song Chong-guk will join Saudi Arabian side Al Shabab.
