The points dropped by Sydney Olympic, Blacktown City Demons, Penrith-Nepean United and Bonnyrigg White Eagles keeps the distance between fifth and tenth-spot at four-points; meanwhile Wollongong Community FC's difficult campaign to-date is reflected in their bottom-spot placing with four points from the opening eleven rounds.

Manly United FC handed League leader Sydney United their first taste of defeat in 2009 with a thrilling 3-2 victory at Sydney United Sports Centre. The Round 11 top-of-the-table clash did not fail to deliver as both sides threw all their energies into the encounter from start to finish; the win for Manly United re-opens the challenge for the chasing pack behind the Reds.

The Reds couldn't have asked for a better start following some exceptional build-up play between David Zdrilic and Luka Glavas. The latter used his strength and speed, along with a cool finish, to chip the oncoming Brad Swancott in the Manly goal.

Both sides exchanged blows with dominance of possession swinging from one team to the other, though Manly United managed to pull a goal back moments prior to the break courtesy of a deflected Joey Schirripa free-kick.

The visitors took the lead on 58' minutes as a failed clearance by the Reds rearguard presented Mitch Macedo with the 'go-ahead-goal'; Macedo finished with aplomb much to the disbelief of the home supporters. The Reds did show their fighting qualities and drew level on 75' minutes when Glavas, and substitute Ante Milicic, combined for Zdrilic's equaliser. The former Sydney FC striker was on the mark to finish off from close-range.

Manly United's winner arrived 7' minutes from time as a swift counter-attack allowed Scott Thomas a sniff at goal. The midfielder did not disappoint with his finish, calmly squeezing the ball inside of the up-right for the win.

At Marconi Stadium, the battle between two of Australian Football's most decorated clubs finished with Marconi Stallions claiming bragging rights over Sydney Olympic following their 2-1 win.

Kader Toure single-handedly hit the Stallions ahead following a goal of true class. The Cote D'Ivoire import collected an Alexander Canak searching ball on the left-flank before rounding two Sydney Olympic players and exquisitely finishing past goalkeeper Sam Emmanouil.

Sydney Olympic's equaliser arrived on the stroke of half-time following some messy play in the Stallions defensive third. Matthew Mayora received a short pass before unleashing a venomous effort that left Stallions shot-stopper James Chronopoulos with no chance.

The Stallions scored their winner after the break as Canak cleverly disposed Mirko Jurilj before finishing expertly past Emmanouil for the 2-1 win.

A goal-fest at Bonnyrigg Sports Ground favoured only the West Sydney Berries as John Calleja's men found a last minute equaliser against the White Eagles for a 3-3 draw.

Bonnyrigg led the Berries 2-0 after 35' minutes with goals to Nikola Zonjic and Almir Dizdaric handing the home-side complete control of proceedings.

The visiting Berries did grab themselves a lifeline on 38' minutes as Kosta Lagoudakis' free-kick ensured the side would go in at the break behind by only one-goal.

New White Eagles signing Jay Lucas confirmed the home-side's two goal buffer with his first goal for the club, though Peter Peralta pulled the Berries back to within a goal with a strong finish of his own.

With only a minute of normal time remaining, John Fotiadis' dangerous low-cross from the right caught the White Eagles defence backtracking; Tayfun Devrimol was the unlucky player to divert the ball past his own goalkeeper for the 3-3 result.

Sutherland Sharks welcomed back Nick Stavroulakis to the starting line-up following a large spell on the sideline due to injury. The Sharks were made to work for the points in their 2-1 defeat of Penrith-Nepean as Panny Nikas hit the Sharks ahead inside the first period with a nicely taken goal following Brad Boardman's display of strength on the ball. Greg Kondek squared the ledger on 53' minutes, before Jim Bakis found the match-winner only 3' minutes later to keep the Sharks assault on the Top-Four alive.

On Sunday at Jensen Park, Bankstown City returned to the Top-Five following a 4-2 defeat of Blacktown City. The entertaining encounter produced goals, red cards - one to each side - and much end-to-end action. Richard Luksic headed the home-side ahead after 4' minutes, though a poor spell between the 23' and 26' minutes saw the Demons take the lead - with goals to Joel Chianese and Nicolo Sama. A second-half show by Hussein Akil (two goals) and Hussein Salameh ensured the Lions would return to the winner's list; Salameh's half-volley a real pick of the bunch.

At Hooka Creek Park in Wollongong, Sydney Tigers added to Wollongong Community FC's pile of grief with a hard-fought 2-1 win. The Tigers hit the lead early courtesy of last season's top goal scorer Robbie Younis. The home-side hit back via Steven Hayes with 13' minutes remaining, before Tigers' young gun Jason Trifiro secured the side from Leichhardt three valuable points with a well-taken goal in the side's climb up the TeleChoice Premier League ladder.
