The Reds secured maximum points following striker Luka Glavas' strike in the 65' minute, also securing a one goal lead in the 'Zarko Odzakov Cup' played between these two clubs.

The Reds were impressive from the outset, though squander chances via experienced pairing of Ante Milicic and David Zdrillic. Bankstown City provided a good account of themselves as midfielders George Nohra and Phillip Makrys were a constant threat with their quick ball movement into the front third. In the end though, Glavas' headed effort over goalkeeper Andrew Bazi was enough to take all three-points and a sole hold of top-spot on the League ladder.

At Belmore Sport Ground Sydney Olympic put aside their shock Round 1 loss to West Sydney Berries to record their maiden win for the season. The Blues started on the back foot, falling behind to an incredible own goal against the Sydney Tigers, before Xavier Forsberg (16' minute) and Matthew Mayora (35') had the home-side ahead at the break.

Sydney Olympic administered the one-goal advantage with much finesse, and the Blues should have really added to their lead in the second-half. The 2-1 win though will help the players confidence following the shock Round 1 defeat to the Berries.

Wollongong Community FC scored their first win of the campaign with an exceptional 'comeback' against Bonnyrigg White Eagles. Wollongong trailed the White Eagles 0-2 with goals from Eric Nyamekye and Almir Dizdaric; to make the task all the more difficult, Ben Bronneberg received his marching orders prior to the break, leaving Tony Pace's men with a mammoth task in the second period.

Just as the community of Wollongong have done since the folding of Wollongong Wolves FC at the end of last season, Pace's players fought 'tooth and nail' in the second-half to record a memorable win. Experienced campaigner Ilija Prenzoski scored twice to draw the sides level, before Samet Kaynak scored the winner 18' minutes from the end.

West Sydney Berries salvaged a point at home against Penrith-Nepean United courtesy of an injury-time goal from Jack Sobczyk. Following a somewhat dour first-half, where the visitors held possession for longer spells, the second-period proved to be rewarding to the eye of the crowd present at Lidcombe Oval.

Penrith-Nepean hit the lead courtesy of a well taken Mitchell Long effort following a pin-point Ante Juric cross from the left-flank. The visitors should have doubled their lead shortly after when Evangelos Petratos won his side a penalty; the experienced campaigner stepped up for the spot-kick though saw his effort rattle against the crossbar.

The Berries found their equaliser courtesy of Dimitri Zakilas following the initiative of captain Aheleas Kotsopoulos, though Penrith-Nepean substitute Gregory Kondek scored what seemed to be the match-winner in the 89' minute.

In the 3' minute of injury-time, Kotsopoulos' swerving free-kick was met by a glancing Sobczyk header that beat Daniel Schwarzer.

At Marconi Stadium, Manly United FC fought gallantly to leave Bossley Park with a point after playing with ten-men following Luke Reading's red card in the 30' minute.

Phil Moss' side had taken the lead courtesy of Robbie Cattanach after 18' minutes, though Reading's poorly timed challenge on Ben Vidaic in the penalty-area left the referee with no decision but to award a penalty; Reading given his marching orders.

Stallions' skipper Nahuel Arrarte converted the spot-kick to draw the Stallions level, and the Marconi on-slaught commenced. Despite a dominance of possession and goal scoring chances, ten-men Manly United held out for the draw for the second consecutive weekend.

At Seymour Shaw Sutherland Sharks were kept scoreless for the second weekend running. Following the Sharks opening Round 0-0 draw at Manly United FC, Robbie Stanton's men were held to a second 0-0 draw against Blacktown City Demons.

The Sharks held the monopoly on possession, and goal scoring chances, though a stubborn Demons' defence stood tall. Youngster Chris Bedzo was a menace for the Sharks as he conjured up two goal scoring chances for the Demons, meanwhile Matt Hall and Brad Boardman went closest for the home side on numerous occasions.
