BRISBANE Roar boss Ange Postecoglou sung his side's praises after they thrashed Adelaide United 4-0 in Saturday's top-of-the-table clash despite being down to ten men.
"Usually it's the turning point the other way but the boys were fantastic," Postecoglou told Fox Sports after the game.
"They responded really well and if anything it just lifted them."
Postecoglou added: "I think we're playing some fantastic football, but there's some real character in this team as well. You need both.
"There were some superb goals, we lifted for 10-15 minutes, I thought we were untouchable even with ten men."
A crowd of over 13,000 turned out at Suncorp Stadium to watch the top-of-the-table clash and Postecoglou said he hopes the fans will continue to flock to see his entertaining side.
"That's probably the most pleasing part of tonight, we had our biggest crowd," he said.
"I'm sure they'll all come back and hopefully bring a friend next time. They lifted the boys.
"It is becoming a fortness now. There's a real good vibe around the place."
Adelaide United coach Rini Coolen admitted Brisbane produced some excellent football and paid tribute to the Roar who now lead the league by four points from the Reds.
"We knew before the game it would be a hard game. We definitely played against the best team in the league, they were terrific the way they played," he said.
"We had a plan, of course, and it was well organised in the first half. We had three or four chances to score a goal. We didn't and then you leave at half-time at 1-0.
"You prepare then. But then they get a red card and they score two times in a row, some big mistakes defensively of course, and then the game is gone.
"We lost today against a real good team."
