Chanvit Polchovin is confident Thailand's German training camp with have the Asian Cup co-hosts fully prepared for the tournament opener against Iraq on July 7 in Bangkok.
Thailand departed for Germany this week after suffering a 3-1 defeat by Holland at the Rajamangala Stadium on Wednesday as Polchovin`s side stepped up preparations for the tournament.
Polchovin insisted nerves impinged his side against Marco van Basten`s Dutch outfit, who stormed ahead through Rafael van der Vaart, John Heitinga and substitute Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink before Thailand captain Tawan Sripan struck a 66th minute consolation.
But the 51-year-old is confident his side will be much more prepared for the June 30 friendly meeting with Qatar and Group A meetings with Iraq, Australia and Oman.
"Training overseas camp will be beneficial. There, we will focus on special tactics and on gaining strength and stamina," Polchovin told The Nation.
"The competition is one of the toughest. I want my players to concentrate throughout each game and show good teamwork. We need to build the physical strength of each player."
Football Association of Thailand president Worawi Makudi added: "I would like the team to learn from the loss against the Netherlands.
"We have learned about our weak points and how the team fares when pitted against a stronger side."
