Signing with adidas before the 2018 World Cup, FTBL looks at some of Paulo Dybala's best boot choices.
In 2011, Dybala was handed his first team debut from his hometown club Instituto De Cordoba wearing the Nike Tiempo Legend III’s. December 2011, he made his first change into the Superfly III’s, entering Nike’s speed line.
Making his next move to Palermo in 2012, Dybala started off the season in the Nike Vapor VIII’s. After being relegated in the 2011-2012 season, Dybala kicked off 2013 in the Serie B with the first release of the Hypervenom’s - a strongly marketed “strikers boot”.
After gaining promotion in the 2013-2014 season, Dybala returned to the Serie A in 2014, and switched back into the Mercurial line, this time lacing up in the Superfly IV’s.

Upon signing for Serie A giants Juventus, Dybala continued to choose the Nike Mercurial Superfly line as his preferred boots. However, in February 2017 Dybala started wearing a blacked-out pair of the Superfly V’s as well as marking his own trademark logo onto the boots.
Continuing his low-key appearance on the field, his next switch was another pair of blackouts, this time being the adidas X17+ Purespeed in June 2017. Until switching into the Gold colourway as part of the Sky Stalker pack on New Year’s Day.
With multiple boot switches over his short career, the biggest surprise of all was the official announcement by adidas weeks prior the 2018 FIFA World Cup. Stating that Dybala had officially signed with the brand and will be wearing arguably the most disruptive and limited boot on the market, Glitch 19.

Despite his signing with adidas, there is no doubt that the talented young striker will catch us by surprise sooner than expected. We are predicting that he will lace up in either the adidas X18+ or remain with Glitch for start of the 2018-2019 Serie A season, as seen in recent posts through Juventus' social media.
