FRANK Farina is looking forward to the return of his Young Socceroos as he eyes 'the real test' for his side on August 8.
The Roar coach was disappointed to see his team slip to yet another pre-season defeat at the weekend, this time at the hands of new boys North Queensland Fury.
Farina had few complaints but isn't panicking about the situation. He insists it is all about building for the first A-League fixture (against Gold Coast United).
He is without several squad members at present with the likes of Mitch Nichols, Luke De Vere and Isaka Cernak away with the Young Socceroos.
"The real test comes in two weeks," said Farina. "A little bit disaapointed in our overall performance (against Fury). We've got to build towards August 8.
"We get our four or five young players back the weekend before the first game so hopefully we'll be ready to go."
The Roar coach also thinks Fury have a good shot at enjoying a competitive first campaign in the A-League.
He added: "I've always said I think they'll do well. Whether or not they make the finals, they've got the aspirations that everyone else has. It's going to be a tough league, very tight. They'll be a good side, they'll do well."
