David Williams has snapped up the PFA's Player of the Month award for March after knocking in five goals - including a couple of worldies - for Wellington Phoenix.
Williams has scored 11 goals in 23 appearances this season in a resurgent campaign for both Wellington and the striker himself.
After a disappointing spell at Hungarian side Haladas, in which Williams played generally well but was forced out due to financial issues, his return to the A-League has proven a welcome homecoming.
In addition to forming a deadly striking partnership with teammate and golden boot contender Roy Krishna, Williams has scored some emphatic strikes, quickly regaining his reputation for powerful, curling efforts from outside the area.
Not that the finals-destined striker is resting on his laurels just yet.
"It’s always nice to perform on the level I have since returning to the Hyundai A-League but there's still much more to do and my focus is purely on attaining that home playoff final," he said.
"To score goals, you need to have a good team around you and I'm lucky to be involved in such a cohesive team that works hard for each other.
"This award is for the team and hopefully we can add to it later on in the season as we look to reach the Grand Final.”
