The 24-year-old keeper, who was inspirational in both the dramatic Big Blue semi-final over premiers Sydney FC and the showpiece against the Newcastle Jets, has re-signed for a further two years.

He's joined by captain Carl Valeri and one-club man Leigh Broxham, who each extended their deals for one year.

Head coach Kevin Muscat feels it is the experience the trio share that is a key commodity going forward, and has challenged them to help guide new arrivals at AAMI Park this winter.

"In Carl, Leigh and Lawrence we have somewhere near 500 games of experience here, so it was important to keep them at the club," said Muscat, who has won four A-League championships as a player and manager.

"We've still got a number of players to sign ahead of next season and there will be a period of adjustment required for most of those, so having leaders like Carl and Leigh in the changeroom is extremely important.

"All three contributed heavily to our success last season and with the added demands of another Champions League campaign ahead of us, they'll no doubt prove invaluable through both competitions again."
