Thwaite, a Socceroo, was one of the standout players last season at axed A-League club Gold Coast United.

Meanwhile Jamieson appears to be one of the first casualties of the Ian Crook era at Sydney FC. He has been in limbo with an expired contract but awaiting a new boss to make the final decision.

The former Adelaide United and Bolton Wanderers defender seems set for the exit door at the Sky Blues but is set to bounce back with a role at Glory next season.

He confirmed the move on Twitter tonight, saying simply: "I am Heading to the West Of Australia."

Perth Glory refused to comment.

Meanwhile the FFA will tomorrow unveil Tony Popovic as the boss of the new West Sydney club on a four year deal when CEO Ben Buckley is also expected to reveal its name and colours.

A press conference has been called for midday at the FFA HQ in Sydney to coincide with Johnny Warren's birthday.
