DANNY Tiatto's imminent exit from Brisbane Roar is of little concern to boss Ange Postecoglou who is focusing on the visit of title-chasing Sydney FC to Suncorp Stadium tonight.
Tiatto joins the crowing list of Roar veterans to cut ties with the club, after it was revealed through the week that he was no longer welcome at training because of inflammatory comments made to the media.
But a terse Postecoglou insisted the club was not interested in Tiatto and that the story was 'old news'.
"It's actually an old story. As I said in the paper, you can ask him in three weeks time and he'll probably have the same answer. It's old news really, from our point of view," Postecoglou said.
"Paperwork or no paperwork, it doesn't really matter. As I've said I've moved on weeks ago. The formalities of it are no concern to me.
"I don't have the legalities of it, but I think either he's in discussions with the club or has reached a mutual agreement for termination."
Despite the Tiatto issue Postecoglou and striker van Dijk were adamant that a big performance against Sydney in their last home game was Roar's sole focus.
"It's our last home game. We've had a disappointing, tough season and I reckon it would have been even tougher for our supporters," Postecoglou said.
"Our last home game, against a good side, still with an outside chance of final, you want to put on a big performance.
"That's what we've been focusing on all week at training with the playing group. That's what we've been talking about.
"The major motivation for the players is that it's our last home game. You want to finish well at home. Our supporters are more likely to feel good about themselves if we finish well in that last game and give them a bit of hope."
Van Dijk, who has scored four goals in his last two games against Sydney, was happy to agree with his coach and the Roar's star import had only victory on his mind.
"For us it's important to win every game these next three weeks, because we have our own goal to accomplish. That's to get a spot in the play offs," he said.
"Our morale is good. We're moving on now. At this late stage of the competition we're focused on our goal. All the other things are matters for the club. We have to do our thing on the pitch and get on with it.
"I can speak for myself, I'm focused on the games."
If Roar are to lift themselves from the bottom end of the A-league table they will have to do so without the services of midfielder Massimo Murdocca and possibly Ivan Franjic.
Postecoglou said that Murdocca had been forced out with a quad strain despite being desperate to play, while Franjic would be given a chance to prove his fitness on game day.
