au.fourfourtwo.com got a behind the scenes look at the ad as Neill and Cahill were seen training on the park, running up the stadium's walkways and getting ready to walk out of the dressing room in a series of dramatic scenes.
Along for the ride were a horde of extras enjoying a rare chance to hang out with these stars of the green and gold at the stadium that will host Saturday's marquee clash between the Socceroos and Holland.
"The advertisement will show fans 'feeling what the Socceroos feel' as they prepare for a big match," said Ruben Lawrence, Sponsorship & Partnership Manager, Sony Australia.
"With the unmistakeable clarity of HD, Sony products bring fans closer to the action and allow them to feel what the players feel."
Neill - recently appointed a brand ambassador for Sony - told au.fourfourtwo.com that he enjoyed making ads as it gives him a chance to do something different outside of football.
"It's kind of a break for me," he said. "And Sony is a great company to be involved in and I'm really proud to be endorsing the brand."
Neill and Cahill are part of Sony's global and local commitment to football and teamed up in the advertisement to recreate the feelings they go through before, during and after a game.
"We're trying to create a what we feel scenario with the ad, portraying to the public the emotions we go through," added Neill.
Team-mate Cahill said Socceroos in large-scale TV advertising campaigns can inspire young kids to play football for Australia in the future.
He added: "You can show how much you love the game and make them be inspired by you being on TV."
The ad will air from January 2010 and will run through to the World Cup Final in July 2010, the first event of its kind broadcast in HD.
