Mark Milligan believes Tim Cahill is raring and ready to fire for Australia if he takes the field against Peru.
With Andrew Nabbout unavailable to face the Peruvians because of his shoulder injury, a new striker will be selected for the final Group C game.
Cahill, Australia's record goal-scorer, has yet to feature in Russia and neither has fellow forward Jamie Maclaren.
Milligan admits he has no idea if coach Bert van Marwijk will select the 38-year-old or not, but knows that if given the chance Cahill will be fully prepared.
"I have no idea what's going to happen in this next game," the midfielder said.
"We have three strikers chomping at the bit at the minute to put their hand up for this next match. I guess all the talk about Timmy and all that, you guys don't see what we see in camp.
"While I'm sure undoubtedly he's frustrated he's not had his shot yet, the amount he gives to the players around him, including talking today before training, is unbelievable.
"What happens on Tuesday I'm not sure, what I do know is if Timmy's called upon he'll be more than ready."
Tomi Juric has come on and replaced Nabbout in the second half of both games against France and Denmark.
Asked if he thought Cahill should have been brought on in Samara, as the Socceroos chased a winner against the Danes, Milligan replied: "Honestly the only thing I was thinking was to make sure they didn't get in behind us and we conceded.
"Timmy is a massive personality in the team, in the media, these decisions aren't for us to make. We support each other.
"We know what Timmy will do if he does get the chance but it's not up to us to decide."
