The Italy striker's future with the Bundesliga giants was brought into question by the signing of Ivica Olic and Mario Gomez this summer.

With two new big name forwards to compete with, Toni's starting place at the Allianz Arena looks under threat, but the 32-year-old is not contemplating a transfer.

"I feel very happy in Munich," Toni told the Bild newspaper. "Bayern have everything that I want at the moment - excellent prospects for the title and a real chance to win the Champions League. With such a strong team we can achieve that.

"And I promise my fans: I will stay true to Bayern. I will train even harder, give even more from my performances."

Reports in Italy had claimed Toni could be one of the players new coach Louis van Gaal was looking to move on as he seeks to overhaul a squad which failed to meet expectations last season.

The Italian added: "There are of course always enquiries from well-known clubs. And there will continue to be. But at the moment I still see the best chances to play top-level European football are at Bayern.

"The Bayern fans stand firmly behind me and I am an important part of a team successful in Europe. Why should I move?"
