PARIS, March 11 (Ligue 1) - Marseille's Mamadou Niang struck three minutes from time to deny league leaders Lyon all three points on Sunday, but second-placed Lens failed to take advantage as they also drew against Sedan.
Five-time defending champions Lyon, still smarting over their midweek elimination from the Champions League by Roma, took a 20th-minute lead through Milan Baros.
But Niang's late goal for eighth-placed Marseille spoiled their evening.
Basement side Sedan were denied a third straight victory as they were held to a 1-1 draw at Lens.
Sedan had been in inspired form, recording back-to-back wins to get back into contention at the bottom end of the table.
They took the lead after just two minutes through Gregory Pujol, but Seydou Keita hit a 30th-minute equaliser.
Sedan have 26 points - four less than Troyes who occupy the last position of safety.
Paris St Germain's relegation plight worsened with a home defeat at the hands of Auxerre.
Younes Kaboul netted the only goal of the match before half-time and Paul Le Guen's men could not find a way back.
Auxerre are now just one win away from the magical 40-point barrier which normally guarantees survival, while PSG are second-bottom - two points from safety.
