Juventus' title defence will begin with a trip to the only side that beat them twice last season, Sampdoria, before hosting Lazio, followed by a potentially tricky away contest against Walter Mazzari's Inter Milan.

The Turin-based club's CEO Guiseppe Marotta has claimed Juventus were always going to be given a tough start to the season after winning back-to-back Serie A titles.

"Surely this is the hardest start of the season in the past three years," Marotta said.

"But this happens when we are the club to beat as we have won two titles in a row.

"Realistically, we take it positively and immediately facing such threats will let us understand who we are this season."

After winning the past two titles in Italy's top tier, Juventus have further strengthened their attacking reserves with Carlos Tevez and Fernando Llorente joining the club.
