FULHAM are on the verge of signing Daniel Cousin after Rangers accepted an offer of £3million for the Gabon international.
The Premier League side upped their bid on Tuesday afternoon after their initial reported offer of £2million was turned down by the Scottish league leaders on Monday.
The 30-year-old has now headed to London to discuss personal terms.
It will represent good business for Rangers who signed Cousin for around £1million from Lens last August, with the player scoring eight goals in 17 SPL games.
The club's official website, www.rangers.co.uk, confirmed: "Rangers have accepted an offer from Fulham to sell Daniel Cousin and the striker is now on his way to London to discuss personal terms.
"The Cottagers made a move last night for the 30-year-old Gabon international which was rejected by Rangers.
"Fulham then came back in again today with an improved offer and this was accepted by the club."
Cousin's departure from Ibrox could see Rangers step up their interest in Aston Villa striker Luke Moore with Martin O'Neill ready to let the 21-year-old leave if the £3.5million asking price is met.
The club have also signed Denmark midfielder Leon Andreasen from Bundesliga side Werder Bremen on a three-and-a-half-year deal.
The 24-year-old joined Werder in 2005 from Danish outfit Aarhus but spent January to June last year on loan at Mainz, scoring four goals in his first seven games, and earned his first international cap in March against Spain.
Andreasen said: "I am pleased that the two clubs have been able to reach an agreement to enable me to sign for Fulham.
"I enjoyed my time at Werder Bremen and am now excited by a new challenge that awaits me.
"I look forward to playing well for Fulham and competing in the Premier League."
Cottagers manager Roy Hodgson added: "He has all the attributes to succeed at the highest level and has the desire and application to perform well in every game."
Werder's general manager Klaus Allofs told the club's official website, www.werder.de: "Leon thought the possibilities of becoming a first-team player at Werder were not very positive.
"He had already spoken with us several times about a transfer and we have granted him his wish.
"We have come to an agreement with Fulham over the transfer fee."
Werder coach Thomas Schaaf added: "Leon was always somewhat impatient and wanted things to advance.
"Now he wants to seek his chance somewhere else. We wish him a lot of success in the Premier League."
Another possible new arrival is former Liverpool striker Jari Litmanen who is training with the club.
The 36-year-old will be reunited with Hodgson whom he played under when he captained Finland.
Litmanen spent 18 months at Anfield where he won the treble of the UEFA Cup, FA Cup and League Cup in 2001 before moving on to Ajax in 2002.
He has since been with Hansa Rostock of the Bundesliga and Swedish side Malmo.
However, Fulham have had an approach for former Manchester United striker Erik Nevland turned down by FC Groningen.
Club director Hans Nijland confirmed the unsuccessful approach for the 30-year-old but indicated that Groningen were prepared to negotiate a fee for Nevland, who has hit 53 goals in 116 appearances and signed a three-year contract extension in April.
A transfer would also see Nevland reunited with Hodgson, whom he played under at Norwegian outfit Viking FK.
"The London club on Tuesday made their first offer," Nijland said. "We could not agree with their offer and now have to see what their reaction is.
"We are speaking about all this with Erik and up until now we are on the same wavelength.
"Erik also understood that we found the fee that Fulham offered us did not meet our valuation."
