GERMANY have suffered another World Cup injury blow after it was confirmed midfielder Christian Trasch will miss the tournament after spraining an ankle in a warm-up game last night.
Trasch lasted just eight minutes of the 4-0 friendly win over FC Sudtirol before being helped from the field.
And assistant boss Hans-Dieter Flick confirmed the Stuttgart man has now been ruled out of the finals in South Africa after being ordered to rest the joint for four weeks.
He said today: "Christian Trasch will not be available for us at the World Cup.
"It's disappointing news as Christian would have been in our final squad."
Germany boss Joachim Low has to trim his party to 23 by June 1 with central midfield the biggest area of concern as captain Michael Ballack and Bayer Leverkusen's Simon Rolfes have already been ruled out.
