Silvestre is one of three targets Les Girondins president Jean-Louis Triaud identified for his club this summer as they look to improve on the second place they achieved in last season's Ligue 1 campaign.

Triaud has earlier admitted that capturing Silvestre would be complicated due to the amount of money he currently earns in England.

Now Tresor claims the United player himself has revealed Roma are interested, and the former France international believes it will be tough to see off the competition from Italy.

"As for Mikael Silvestre, I'm really worried it'll be complicated," Tresor told French radio station RTL L'Equipe.

"I met him not too long ago in the Antilles. He told me that he was also being followed by Roma.

"And when it comes to the two teams, he's not going to take a loan to Bordeaux over a definitive contract in Rome."

Bordeaux have already completed the loan transfer of Yoann Gourcuff from AC Milan, and are currently in negotiations with Caen on their third target Yoan Gouffran.

Silvestre featured only six times for United last season, making three appearances in the Premier League.
