Trezeguet has left the touring side before their arrival in Melbourne, with his wife set to give birth during the week.

Bosnian international Hasan Salihamidzic will also miss the match, joining an absentee list that already features the likes of Alessandro Del Piero, Pavel Nedved and Vincenzo Iaquinta.

Victory football operations manager Gary Cole said the game, which is close to a sell out, will still feature very talented players from Italy's most revered team.

"It's a little bit of a disappointment," he said. "But there's a fantastic squad coming. This is the most successful team in the world, 51 trophies, 40 in Italy and a young squad that will be here are the stars of the future of a massive club. We're really excited."

The Juve squad will still have seven players of international experience as well as Australia goalkeeper Jess Vanstratten. Alessandro Birindelli will captain the side.

Cole said that the build-up within the Victory camp was akin to a Grand Final week, with much anticipation among the players in what will be the club's final game before a one-month break.

"I know the feeling around the group. You can see, they are buzzing. It's almost like a build up to a Grand Final, because it's such a great game. With nothing at stake except a bit of pride, I know these guys are busting at the seams to see show what they can do against a club like Juventus," he said.

Goalkeeper Michael Theoklitos, who sat out the final game of the Victory's Asian Champions League campaign, said he can't wait to get back between the posts and front up against Juve's gun young strikers.

"It's not every day you get to play Juventus in your own backyard. It's a great opportunity as a playing group to play against the best in the world," he said.

"No matter what squad they bring out they are going to be very good. Again it's a great personal achievement to play against them. As a group we're really excited and buzzing and can't wait for Friday night to come."
