The Juventus striker brought an end to his Les Bleus career in July after Raymond Domenech was confirmed as France coach, despite the team's poor showing at Euro 2008.

Trezeguet never saw eye to eye with Domenech, who left the 31-year-old out of a number of squad selections, preferring Thierry Henry, Nicolas Anelka and Karim Benzema as his three strikers.

However, Trezeguet has opened the door to the possibility of returning to the national-team fold.

When asked if he was willing to come out of international retirement, he told L'Equipe: "Yes, I think so, especially with another World Cup looming.

"I have not put a cross through it. I have always missed Les Bleus and I still miss them now.

"Quitting the national team was never something I wanted to do. I am conscious of everything the France team has brought me.

"Today I am saying to myself that the 2010 World Cup could be a goal."

Trezeguet, who is currently recovering from a serious knee injury he suffered while playing for Juve in September, has scored 34 goals in 71 matches for France.

His last appearance in a Les Bleus jersey came in March, in a 1-0 defeat of England in Paris.
