JAMES Troisi looks bound for Spain in the next few days after rejecting the chance to join Sydney FC.
The Olyroo has been without a club since leaving Newcastle United at the end of last season but there has been no lack of interest from A-League clubs anxious to tempt him home.
Troisi told the Adelaide Advertiser: “Primera Liga has a nice style of football as well and it will suit my game. But I really need to concentrate now on club football. I've got my boxes packed and I'm ready to go once I get the call.”
The 20-year-old said Sydney FC had invited him to join them on a short-term deal.
Troisi said: "Kossie has been good. He gave me a call and wanted to know if I was interested in playing short-term for Sydney because of the injuries they had.”
Adelaide United also expressed a desire to land Troisi but Spain looks like winning the day.
As well as trying to kick-start his club career, Troisi is still trying to come to terms with Olympic disappointment.
He said: “Obviously I was disappointed. I think we're quite far away in terms of matching the best. I don't think we'll ever match Argentina or the other good nations. They've just got football in their blood."
