Troisi, who is out of contract, was tipped to take up Victory’s marquee role which was previously held by the departed Oliver Bozanic.

The 28-year-old played 79 minutes in Australia’s 4-0 friendly loss to Brazil on Tuesday night.

Asked post-match about whether he was close to striking a deal, he said “not yet” and was waiting until the conclusion of the 2017 Confederations Cup.

“I haven’t had an offer from Victory, so not sure what’s happening on that front,” Troisi said.

“I can’t sit there, wait and hope for something to happen.

“There’s no offer… So I’m not sure what the situation is.

“I don’t think they’re speaking to my agent.

“I enjoyed playing at Victory, I’m in good form there, I’m happy there, good club, good fans but at the end of the day there has to be an offer on the table for me to say.”

The Socceroos will have a farewell lunch on Wednesday before jetting off to Russia.
