The Socceroos' next qualifier is against Saudi Arabia in Troisi's hometown of Adelaide in June.

Troisi’s first Socceroos campaign since late 2015 was positive after deliveries from his corners ended up in the back of the net on two occasions.

With the A-League season fast finishing, Victory are likely to end proceedings second on the table.

They take on seventh-placed Wellington Phoenix on Sunday.

Upon his return to the club this morning the playmaker said he was aiming for consistency so the rest would "take care of itself".

“I made a big statement on Tuesday night which is fantastic, it’s what I want to do when I come into the national team,” the playmaker said.

“It’s not a luxury being there, I don’t want to be a number there in the squad. I did what I had to do there and I’ll continue for the remainder of the season.”

Asked whether he believed he had done enough to cement a place at Adelaide, he said there was not much more he could do.

But it took until the New Year for Troisi to claim his first goal in his second spell for the club and has so far bagged six goals and assists this season.

Troisi had four shots on Tuesday with none hitting the target, but the 28-year-old responded to his critics and backed his hunger in finding the net.

“At the end of the day everyone is a coach,” he said. “If you score, everything went right. If you don’t, it went wrong. If you don’t shoot, you don’t score, it’s as simple as that.

“First and foremost for me in my position, it’s about creating opportunities for other players and obviously if I get my opportunities every now and then I’m going to take a crack.

“I’ve got a good shot, simple as that. It’s great to score, but in saying that I need to provide as well.”

Victory will also welcome back three other internationals this week – Kosovan Besart Berisha and Kiwis Marco Rojas and Jai Ingham.

Troisi also backs himself to play 90 minutes against the Nix on Sunday.
