England had already beaten the Swedes 3-0 in the early stages of the tournament, and, after a relatively slow start, once again proved themselves a class above their opponents.

Their passing was too quick on the first goal, as Jade Moore capped a fine move by slipping the ball through for the unmarked Toni Duggan to finish in the 33rd minute.

Captain Michelle Hinnigan was denied two minutes later but Swedish goalkeeper Hilda Carlen could do nothing in the 37th minute when Jordan Nobbs punished a poor clearance by firing in from around 30 yards out.

Duggan and Moore had chances to add to the lead in the second half, but England already had all they would need to lift the trophy for the first time.
