Kerkyra had to do it the hard way, coming from behind to defeat Pierikos Katerini 2-1, which means Burns' side restore their eight point buffer atop the division.

Tasos Thanos had given Pierikos an 18th minute lead, before Burns' intervention with the equaliser just past the hour mark.

Then the former Adelaide United man produced a diagonal shot on 77 minutes to give Kerkyra the lead.

Burns, who is on loan with Kerkyra from AEK Athens, has now scored six goals for his new club with Monday's strikes his first since November.

In Turkey's Kupasi overnight, Mile Jedinak put in a full shift for Antalyaspor as they claimed a memorable 4-3 victory over Fenerbahce.

The result means Antalyaspor have sealed their place in the last eight of the Turkish Kupasi, via Group A.

In Italy's Serie B, Socceroo Carl Valeri was left on the bench as an unused substitute again as Sassuolo won 2-1 at Crotone.

In the Scottish Cup, Danny Invincibile's Kilmarnock overcame Falkirk 1-0, although the Australian was absent.
